Kari is a hand-built pottery artist whose work is inspired by the natural beauty of the earth and
the meaningful moments found in everyday life. Through organic textures, earthy tones, and fluid forms, she creates both functional pottery and sculptural pieces that reflect a deep connection to nature, creativity, and human experience. Working primarily by hand, Kari embraces the individuality and character that emerge through the artistic process. Her ceramic work often echoes the textures of stone, water, wood, and landscapes, blending artistry with function in pieces meant to be both enjoyed and lived with. Beyond pottery, Kari is a multidisciplinary artist who also paints, creates wool-felted artwork, and enjoys drawing and experimenting with a variety of artistic mediums. Her creative spirit is constantly inspired by the world around her — from hunting and fishing to walking along the beach, helping others, and spending time outdoors. These experiences often spark new ideas and influence the forms, colors, and stories woven throughout her artwork. Family is at the heart of Kari’s life and creative journey. She treasures spending time with her loved ones, along with her dog and cat, who bring joy and companionship to her days. Deeply connected to her community, Kari volunteers at the local art center in Alma while also working at Alma College and Alma Brewing. Through both her art and community involvement, Kari strives to create work that feels authentic, grounded, and welcoming. Contact at: [email protected] |
