beckomeara.com/about/As a woman in a mid-life shift, from left brain to right brain, appreciation to creation; I attempt to portray our natural world through color and texture.  Through art I invite viewers into a world where emotions speak louder than words.
I enjoy working using watercolor batik technique because life is messy; made up of "happy little accidents". Using watercolor paint on rice paper produces bold colors and texture patterns that are a surprise every time and no two pieces are exactly alike. Molten wax is used as masking agent to control the shape of the image, however, it's the spatters and drips that, often unintentionally, add beauty to the piece.
While I’m drawn to bright vivid color I find beauty in the emotion of tone on tone imagery.  I have taken some of my most vivid paintings and electronically altered them to use on my author’s website to create drama.

Ultimately, my art is not just about what is seen, but what is felt—an invitation to embrace the beauty of imperfection and the power of authenticity in a world that often craves perfection. It is my hope that through my creations, I can spark conversations, inspire connections, and ignite the flame of imagination in the hearts of all who encounter them.
